Off The Edge With Rescue Best Lightweight Tripods

12/04/2017

Have you heard the phrase "live on the edge"? We are sure that you have. It is a philosophy that many people employ in their daily lives as a means to keep things exciting. But when it comes to a rescue scenario in a confined space, living to the limit is the last thing you want. Instead, you want security and safety. You want a rescue best lightweight travel tripods or davit to take you out of a difficult situation in the fastest and safest way possible.

To understand what we are talking about here, think about housing a large rock in a hole with nothing more than a rope and a couple of friends. If you imagine that in your mind, you will undoubtedly see how the rope crawls on the edge of the hole when shooting. This friction can cause the rope to fray and fray, and possibly even break during removal. While that is not a problem for a large rock, it is a big problem for a human victim.

Artificial High Directionals

Rescue tripods are sometimes referred to as artificial directional highs. This designation comes from the fact that they present the pivot point of a rope and pulley system at a central location, 7 to 8 feet above the opening of an access hole. This type of arrangement is artificial in the sense that the natural pivot point if that device were not used, would be at the edge of an access hole.

Using the previous example, without the use of a rescue travel tripod advice or davit system, the pivot point of a rescue line would also represent its weakest point.

By creating this artificial pivot point, rescuers can lower workers in a confined space area and take victims out as safely as possible. There is no danger of friction between the rope and the edge and, therefore, a very small probability that a rescue line will break. The rescue tripod also offers a much more controlled descent of the rescue workers and the rise of the victims, mainly because there is less friction in the pulley system and the winch pulls the rope at a constant speed.

With the proper use of a travel tripod reviews and other equipment, victims trapped in confined spaces are offered the safest extraction possible.

Adequate Training is Required

As light and easy as rescue tripods, they should not be used without care. It is critically important that lifeguards are properly trained in rescue methods in confined spaces before attempting to use a tripod in a rescue setting. Without adequate training, victims can be injured or possibly killed. The same can be said of confined space rescue davits, harnesses and safety ropes, and even basket stretchers.

In the hands of a trained team, a rescue tripod can mean the difference between life and death. Fortunately, they are extremely common in this day and age. Most fire departments and rescue units have at least one in their possession; some have multiple units. They are extremely portable, lightweight and easy to store and use.
